Talent High School

Professional academic experts of Ottawa High School Program will be responsible for guiding every individual student to achieve outstanding academic results continuously from Grade 9 till entry into their dreamed university.

ABOUT OTTAWA

Ottawa is Canada’s capital, a dynamic showcase city of more than one million people. Located in Ontario at the Quebec border, it’s a place where you’ll hear English and French spoken in the streets; where you can discover Canada’s proud heritage at impressive national sites and famous landmarks, including the Rideau Canal (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). It’s a city steeped in culture, with world-class museums and galleries displaying stunning national collections and special exhibitions from Canada and around the world.

Ottawa is a destination alive with celebration, beginning each year with February’s Winter, continuing through May’s Canadian Tulip Festival, heating up July 1 with the biggest Canada Day celebration in the country, and going all-out with headliner summer music festivals.

This city is a uniquely beautiful place: an urban centre on the edge of nature where you can enjoy the great outdoors. Ottawa is known for being both welcoming and walkable. Explore the distinctive local neighbourhoods, including the historic ByWard Market: by day this area boasts a bustling farmers’ market and chic shops, by night it hums with activity at the restaurants.

IP Education Program Information

The Canadian education system is very different from the rest of the world and highly complicated through high school to university level. It is not based on final exams but based on daily homework, weekly quizzes and tests, and participation in the classroom. Student grades change weekly according to student performance, and accumulate student Grade Point Average (GPA), which will be assessed by universities for entry, at the end of their high school. Other important elements in the Canadian education system are the participation in the leadership, clubs and community service.

This system thus always requires students to concentrate, study hard, be independent and creative from Grade 9 to 12, in order to accomplish their dream of entering top Canadian universities and securing scholarships.

However, in reality, international students can be easily lost, lose concentration or side tracked, when unable to balance between a challenging study life without family aside, in order to achieve good performance and reach their final goals. They do need daily and weekly advice on how to improve and sustain high grades, as well as how to take Honor and Advance Placement (AP) courses to achieve their university goals.

IP Education program is designed specifically to solve these international student problems. Professional academic experts of IP Education will be responsible for guiding every individual student to achieve outstanding academic results continuously from Grade 9 till entry into their dreamed university.

Schools profile

Engaging learning spaces

Every one of our schools brings its own flare with flexible learning spaces designed to enhance each child’s learning experience. Our students get to take advantage of collaborative working environments like makerspaces, self-regulation areas, and creative learning commons (libraries). Our innovative classrooms help our educators deliver focused, purposeful lessons, and prepare our students to thrive in the world they will live in when they graduate.

In fact, we’re nationally recognized for our innovation! Our Board was selected by the Canadian Education Association (CEA) across Canada to participate in the “Innovation that Sticks” Case Study Program. CEA will research how we have created a “digital ecosystem” focusing on collaboration, creativity and critical thinking within our schools.

  • Technology in our classrooms
  • Wireless access and tech tools in every classroom
  • Student portals

Covering an area of approximately 2,900 square kilometres, all schools loacate in an all encompassing urban, suburban and rural board located in Eastern Ontario. All schools nationally recognized for our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and creativity. Schools provide a distinctive education with a special emphasis on student success and spiritual growth to approximately 41,500 full-time students.

Graduate with a specialist designation on your diploma

Students who successfully complete an SHSM will receive a high school diploma with a “specialist” designation. The Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) will include an embossed seal, along with formal recognition on his/her Ontario Student Transcript (OST). This recognition lets employers and postsecondary education know that the student has knowledge, skills, and industry-recognized qualifications related to a particular career field.

ESL and English Literacy Development (ELD)

English language learners are students whose first language is one other than English, or a variety of English that is significantly different from the one used for instruction in Ontario’s schools, and are students who may require focused educational supports to assist them in attaining proficiency in English.

Our ESL program is intended for English language learners who have age-appropriate first language literacy skills and educational backgrounds. Our ELD program supports English language learners who, due to various factors, have had limited opportunities to develop age-appropriate language, literacy and numeracy skills in their first language. Students taking ELD courses receive support for both language acquisition and academic upgrading.
